After going 1-0 down in the opening minutes, the team of ex-White Hart Lane favourites stormed back to hit seven – and it could have been more had it not been for the woodwork.
Sinton, John Lacy and Garry Brooke all struck the frame of the goal in the first period as the Legends peppered the target, but it was a flurry of goals just before half-time that effectively ended the contest.
Darren Neaves put Steeple Morden into a seventh minute lead with a lofted long-range effort that flew into the top corner but, after Brooke’s shot was saved and Lacy chipped an effort just wide, the Legends restored parity five minutes later.
Sinton’s crafty back-heel set Justin Edinburgh free down the left, his cross being hammered home by centre-forward Steve Slade.
Sinton’s right-footed curler cannoned off the upright 10 minutes later, before Paul McVeigh cut infield and forced a five save from the Steeple Morden keeper. Edinburgh’s shot from a tight angle was then deflected behind for a corner as the Legends exerted their authority.
Lacy ventured forward from right-back once again in the 26th minute and almost put the lads in front when he helped Sinton’s shot onto the post. He departed the action shortly afterwards, being replaced by fellow defender Paul Price.
Sinton went close on two further occasions before a three-goal blitz in the five minutes preceding half-time saw the Legends open up a comfortable lead. Falco made it 2-1 with a neat finish from 16 yards, Sinton curled a free-kick into the top corner after a foul on Slade and Falco tucked home the rebound after Brooke’s 35-yard strike hit the bar.
The second half was a less lively affair, with Sinton lashing into the side netting after latching onto a reverse pass from McVeigh two minutes after the hour mark.
Sinton was upended in the penalty area on 73 minutes but got back on his feet to slot home the resulting spot kick, while substitute Andy Polston surged in from the right and produced a smart stop from the keeper at his near post.
The scoring was completed by two other substitutes, Trevor Wilkinson slotting past the keeper on 85 minutes after Edinburgh played him through on goal before Warren Gravette fired home a loose ball from close range three minutes from time.
