Mark Falco and Tony Galvin's project to re-launch the ex-Tottenham side at Barrows Farm, Harlow Town FC, got off to a cracking start, with 525 fans flocking to the stadium to see their old favourites back in action.
More than 30 ex-Harlow players turned out to provide stiff competition for the former White Hart Lane men, watched by VIP guest and World Cup winner Ossie Ardiles.
In the end Spurs Legends ran out 3-1 winners.
Spurs went ahead in the fifth minute as Mark Falco latched onto a through ball to neatly lob over Harlow keeper Martin Coomber.
Harlow's equaliser arrived on 24 minutes when substitute Wade Falana forced a fine save from keeper Tony Tillbrook with his first touch of the game only for Glen Alzapiedi to follow up and score.
Spurs gradually got on top after a number of Harlow substitutions, and they regained the lead on 70 minutes. Coomber was unable to hold a high cross from Mark Stimson and that left Andy Edmonds to turn the ball in from close range.
Trevor Wilkinson had a hand in the goal that made it 3-1 as he passed through to Micky Jarrett, who closed in on goal and side-stepped Coomber to place the ball into the empty net.
