The young striker and last season's top scorer for the reserves bagged the first goal of the Jacques Santini era as we drew 1-1 against Swedish First Division outfit Falkenbergs FF in the first of three friendlies as part of our training camp.
It was a decent strike as well - good build up between Johnnie Jackson and Marcel McKie and Lee was there to half-volley home Marcel's low cross from eight yards.
The 20-year-old had another goal chalked off for offside before the home side equalised in the second half.
"I felt good out there and obviously it was great to get a goal to start pre-season off," said Lee.
"I've been working hard on getting sharp in the box and getting more chances so when it came, I was delighted to stick it away.
"I thought the second goal was a good finish as well, it was given offside but I was pleased with how I took the chance."
Lee won a place on the bench last season through his endeavours for the reserves and is delighted to be with the squad out here.
"It's hard work but everyone is enjoying it," he added. "It's good to get away. Everyone is trying to impress and the first game went well for me.."
Lee Barnard grabbed an early chance to impress the new management team in Sweden last night.
