Ledley King has told our official matchday programme that it's the perfect time for us to face United after our fine start to the campaign.

Aaron Lennon's late, late winner against Birmingham last time out made it four wins out of four in the Barclays Premier League.

The reigning champions will provide the biggest threat possible to that proud record but Leds insists we've every reason to be optimistic at the Lane on Saturday.

"Playing United is a great test for us at this stage of the season," said the 28-year-old, who is battling to overcome a groin injury to face the Red Devils.

"It's always a tough game whether you're playing them home or away, but we can't go into this game any more confident than we are right now.

"It's been a brilliant start to the campaign but this is a difficult challenge today. We'll prepare for the game as usual, give it our all on the day and then see just how far we have come this season."

Read Ledley's interview in full in tomorrow's official matchday programme - 84 pages still priced at £3.
