The defender suffered a hamstring tear during the game against Chelsea on September 13 and has missed the Southampton, Coventry and Manchester City fixtures. He hopes to return for the trip to Leicester City in front of the live television cameras on October 19.
"It's coming along as planned really and, hopefully, I should be training next week," he revealed. "I think I'll have to wait until after the international break and it will give me a chance to make sure I get some good training under my belt before my next game.
"It was a tear, but not a bad one. I've been to Germany a few times to see the doctor and he has helped me quite a bit.
"I'm doing some running at the moment, I haven't started yet on ball work, but I'm sure that will come towards the end of the week."
Ledley has been able to keep tabs on the progress of the team in the last two games and feels that they will be encouraged by the results going into the Everton fixture at the Lane on Saturday.
"It's been nice that they have both been on telly and the lads have done well to stay unbeaten for two games and keep two clean sheets. It gives us a bit more confidence going into the Everton game."
Ledley King reports that he should be available for selection after the forthcoming international break.
