Ledley King would love to extend our fine recent home form against Chelsea on Thursday night.
The skipper returned to action in Sunday’s 1-0 win against Sunderland at the Lane and now has his focus fixed again on our old adversaries from Stamford Bridge.
Ledley - rated 50-50 by Harry Redknapp to feature in his second game this week - has certainly played his part as we’ve turned our around fortunes on home soil against Chelsea in recent years.
Our dismal run against the Blues was well documented but since the famous win on November 5, 2006 - and including that fixture - our form is played five, won three, drawn two of these derbies in the Premier League at the Lane.
“I’ve always enjoyed these games,” said Ledley. “Chelsea have quite a few English players and it’s always nice to come up against them.
“We’ve always has good games against Chelsea, the atmosphere is fantastic at White Hart Lane and I’m sure it will be the same again.
“We’ve been good at home against them in recent years and we want to keep that run going.
“They are a good team with good players and you know a team like Chelsea isn’t going to go through a bad period for too long with the characters in the squad.
“They’ve dug themselves out when things looked against them, turned it around and I’m sure they always look forward to playing against us as well.
“We certainly go into it feeling confident."
