Ledley played the whole game playing on the left of a central defensive three that also featured Stephen Kelly and Gary Doherty.
It was the 22-year-old's second reserve match since recovering from his hip problem sustained in the summer. A slight knee injury saw him miss a practice match last week, but he reports no problems from his latest outing.
"It was my second full 90 minutes. I was a bit tired out there, but that is what I expect at the moment. It was nice to get through though."
His next target is to prove his form and fitness to the boss in order to receive a first team recall.
"It would be nice. It's been a long time and I'm itching to get back in there with the boys."
It is not the first time that Ledley has been forced to miss the first third of a campaign. The season before last he did not make his first team entry until mid-November after breaking his foot on England under-21 duty. He points out, however, that it is not quite the same this time.
"It is in a way. The only thing is that I've played a bit more for the first team this time around. It's disappointing not to be out there with the lads so I'm desperate to get back out there."
Ledley King says he is itching to return to first team action after he continued his return from a hip injury in the 3-1 reserve win over Leicester City at the Lane.
