Posted on 6 April 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Ledley King has been named on the shortlist for the PFA Young Footballer of the Year award.

Our outstanding defender is in the running for one of football's most prestigious awards with Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Newcastle's Craig Bellamy, Villa's Darius Vassel, Bolton's Michael Ricketts and John Terry of Chelsea.

Ledley, still just 21, has missed only three games all season and his consistency was recently rewarded with a first senior England cap. He is in the running for Sven Goran Eriksson's World Cup squad.

Meanwhile, three Manchester United players are in the final six for the PFA Player of the Year award - won by Teddy Sheringham last season.

David Beckham, Roy Keane and Ruud van Nistelrooy join Chelsea hotshot Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink and Arsenal pair Robert Pires and Thierry Henry on the shortlist.

The winners will be named on the PFA's award night on April 14.
