Ledley gets the nod to partner John Terry in the friendly at Newcastle's St James Park and the England boss also indicated that Jermain Defoe will play some part from the substitutes' bench.
Ledley was one of the heroes of England's Euro 2004 campaign in Portugal in the summer after a fantastic competitive debut against France.
That performance has certainly lifted him up the England pecking order and Eriksson said this afternoon: "The game he had against France was absolutely incredible."
Ledley, 23, has seven full caps to his name.
Sven Goran Eriksson has already named his England side to face Ukraine on Wednesday night - and it includes Ledley King.
