The 23-year-old defender replaced John Terry in the 88th minute of England's 1-1 draw against Japan at the City of Manchester Stadium.
However, with Terry pointing to a leg problem, Ledley may yet get more of a chance in England's final warm-up game before Euro 2004 against Iceland on Saturday.
Paul Robinson may also feature in that game after remaining an unused substitute last night. Jermain Defoe, on standby for Euro 2004, was also on the bench against Japan.
Elsewhere on the international stage, Gary Doherty is expected to start in central defence in Ireland's Unity Cup clash against Jamaica at Charlton tonight but Robbie Keane might be rested after playing in both of Ireland's friendlies so far against Romania last Thursday and Nigeria on Saturday.
Kasey Keller is not in the USA squad for the friendly against Honduras at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, Massachusettes tonight. It's the USA's final warm-up before home and away World Cup qualifiers against Grenada on June 13 and 19.
Ledley King earned his fourth England cap last night - albeit for a couple of minutes as a late substitute.
