Ledley King is seeking some payback for the fans against Arsenal on Saturday after a disappointing sequence of Premiership results.
The last four meetings at the Lane have resulted in draws, but the brilliant central defender insists three points must be the aim in order to climb the table and reward the supporters.
"They are great games to be involved in and different from any other Premier League game," considered Ledley. "The atmosphere is special, you can feel it on your way to the stadium and being on the pitch is amazing.
"After four defeats we feel we have let the fans down and let ourselves down. We are going into the game looking for three points and there is no point looking at it any other way. We are going to do our best."
Ledley, of course, remembers well last season's Derby encounter at the Lane - particular the incredible backing the team received on their way to coming back from a two-goal deficit.
"The fans were great like they always are. We were 2-0 down in that game and even then they kept behind us - that was what got us back into the game.
"If the crowd are the same, and I'm sure they will be, hopefully we will get to the end of the game with the points."
