After overcoming crack French outfit Lyon last time out, Ledley King is expecting an equally tough test when we travel to Reading for the next stage in our preparations on Saturday.
While the boys were most likely the underdogs against Gerard Houllier's side last Sunday and rocked the French champions with an excellent first half performance before recording a 3-1 win, this time Reading will be seeking to put one over the team wearing the favourites tag.
"Possibly and that is the way it works out sometimes," considered Ledley. "When a team is playing against one from a higher division they sometimes tend to raise their game.
"We are expecting a tough game and don't take anything lightly. We are looking forward to getting another good game under our belts."
Ledley returned to the side against Lyon after missing the previous two Peace Cup encounters with a groin problem. An ever-present in the Premiership last season, the skipper reports it was more a case of taking no chances in order to give him the best opportunity of a repeat performance.
"It's fine," he added. "I've got to work on it and strengthen it all the time. I managed to play through last season but did have a few problems and I don't want the same this season - I want it to be right. I might have to miss the odd session in training to make sure it is all okay for the new season.
"It was the first time I have played all the games and I want to do it again. I must make sure everything is right now to give me the best chance of doing that."
