It has been a frustrating pre-season so far for Ledley, who suffered the injury while out running on his own before the squad returned to training, but he says there is an improvement and hopes it won't be too long before he can be fully involved again.
"It's not been bad, it's been quite good actually and I've was able to do some work on it at the end of last week," said Ledley on Monday at Spurs Lodge.
"It's been a bit achey today, but hopefully it will be okay tomorrow and I'll be able to start work on it.
"I did some ball work on Friday and Saturday and it was nice to get a ball back at my feet. I haven't done any contact work yet as I'm trying to take it one step at a time."
While reluctant to put an exact timescale on it, Ledley hopes to play as soon as he is fully up and running again.
"I'm not really sure at the moment, I hope to be training this week. I'll see how I feel from there, if I feel fine I'd like to get playing as soon as possible.
"It is frustrating. It is a time when you want to do your work with the rest of the lads so you can all be at the same stage. It is frustrating for me, but I've been through this a few times now."
Ledley rejects the notion that added rest won't do him any harm after featuring in most of last season's games.
"It is a long rest, but it's longer than I need really. I had a rest at the end of the season and it's time to do some work again.
"I can't wait to get back."
Ledley King reports that he is making progress with his hip injury and hopes to be back in training this week.
