The defender sustained an ankle injury in our first pre-season outing against Stevenage Borough and is now ready to make his claim for a first team return by putting on a good show for Colin Calderwood's side.
"I've been training since the end of the last week towards a game that I've been aiming for - which is the reserve game tonight," said Ledley.
"At the moment the ankle is feeling good and I'm feeling quite good in training. I just want to get this game under my belt and hopefully try and push on from there.
"I think I just went over on it against Stevengage. It was a bit sore during the game, but one of those where you can get through it and get through to half-time, which is what I wanted to do. I was in a bit of pain after the game and it seemed to drag on from there.
"It was a little sprain of the ligaments - it wasn't too bad. I've been out to Germany to see a doctor out there and he helped a lot."
Ledley King is happy that he has realised his target of featuring in tonight's reserve game against Portsmouth at Havant and Waterlooville.
