Ledley King considers the display put on against Newcastle at the weekend will count for nothing if no reward is gathered from the visit to West Brom tonight.
The defender is determined that, with expectations surely heightening following a positive beginning to the season, the team do not disappoint in a game that, on paper, they will be expected to secure at least a point.
"I've been in the squad for a while and I have kind of got used to that happening over the years," reflected the in-form Ledley.
"It is something that we've got to cut out of our game if we want to get near the top. The Newcastle performance is nothing unless we go to West Brom and get a good result there.
"We've got to go in with the same effort and determination as we did at Newcastle to get a result."
With being a newly promoted side, Ledley knows West Brom will be right up for the game and says the team must not allow themselves to be muscled out of their stride.
"Definitely, they are at home and are a physical side. In the past we have sometimes allowed teams like this to bully us a bit and we must stand up and be counted."
