The Club Ambassador is involved as part of our season-long support of the NHS ‘Get to know cancer’ campaign, aiming to raise awareness of symptoms and promote early diagnosis amongst fans.
Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world during the month of November. With their “Mo’s”, men can raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health.
Ledley was making an appearance at North Middlesex University Hospital last week alongside Mousa Dembele to launch a new state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine – and sporting his ‘Mo’ in public for the first time!
The legendary former captain said: “It’s going well. Getting involved in Movember is not something I’d ever thought of doing before, but I wanted to show my support for the ‘Get to know cancer’ campaign in some way.
“It’s been a great campaign so far and having a football club the size of ours raise awareness of cancer symptoms will hopefully encourage more people to get themselves checked by a doctor early and maybe even save lives.”
Ledley will be having his ‘Mo’ shaved during the half-time interval at our home game against Manchester United next Sunday.
