Chris Hughton is hopeful the groin injury that forced skipper Ledley King off against Birmingham isn't too serious.

Chris Hughton is hopeful the groin injury that forced skipper Ledley King off against Birmingham isn't too serious.

Whether or not that means the defender will be back for Wednesday's trip to West Brom will depend on medical reports on Tuesday.

Ledley hobbled off midway through the second half of the 2-0 victory on Boxing Day, replaced by the returning Noe Pamarot.

"Ledley has a problem in his groin but the initial feeling is that it's only a slight one," reported coach Chris. "I saw him as he came off and he felt perhaps it wasn't too bad.

"So we're hopeful but obviously we'll have to make further assessments over the next day or so."
