It will be a first competitive start for Leds who made his full debut in Portugal three months ago when he as on target in a 1-1 draw in Faro.
FA technical development director Sir Trevor Brooking is confident Ledley can hold his own against the French.
He said: "He has played alongside Sol before as a youngster and did well in those games and it is a wonderful opportunity for him.
"It will help him a lot to have Sol alongside him. He is a good talker and if you could pick anyone, it would be Sol."
