The skipper has missed our opening three outings of the season with a knee injury, but he has now stepped up his training with Manchester United on the near horizon.
"At the moment training is going well and my knee is holding up, so hopefully I will be available for selection on Saturday," reported the England international, whose absence has not been prolonged but did include a busy beginning to the season.
"It has really been one week I have missed, but one with three games. I am probably ahead of schedule and the physios and doctors have done well for me."

"It is hard to put into words how frustrating it is. After what happened last season I was thinking about it a lot over the summer and looking forward to starting off the new season here. Then to get injured again is not nice - you have to be strong.
"I think I am quite good with that, you take it on the chin and strive to get back as soon as possible."
Ledley King is hopeful of making himself available for selection on Saturday for the trip to Old Trafford.
