Our outstanding defender and new England cap picked up an ankle knock at Middlesbrough on March 30 and has played only 45 minutes against Arsenal since.
Ruled out of England U21 duty this week because of the problem, Ledley reported: "It doesn't feel too bad. I think I'll put it to the test this week and see how it responds.
"It was a kick initially but there might have been a problem in there before that which has probably come up.
"I've played since at Arsenal, the first 45 minutes, but that didn't help.
"It's a little sore but hopefully I'll make it at Bolton. I'll see how it is this week, step things up a little and if it's fine hopefully I'll be back.
"It's a bit of a shame because I've only missed a few games but it's still been a good season for me overall."
That season has included being shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award - won by Newcastle's Craig Bellamy on Sunday night.
"He's a worthy winner," said Ledley. "Pace is always hard to play against and he's really sharp, quick and difficult to mark.
"He's done really well this season and has proved that he's a top quality striker."
Ledley King is 'hopeful' of returning to the fray against Bolton on Saturday.
