The Rome-based outfit boasted the likes of Italian international Alessandro Nesta (pictured), ex-United defender Jaap Stam, Spanish star Gaizka Mendieta and Argentinian trio Diego Simeone, Hernan Crespo and Claudio Lopez in their ranks last season. They finished sixth in Serie A.
Two high-profile friendlies have now been confirmed for the Lane as part of our preparations for the 2002-03 season with Scottish champions Celtic making the trip south on Wednesday August 7 (8pm).
OTHER PRE-SEASON DATES
Celtic, managed by Martin O'Neill, finished 18 points clear in last season's Scottish Premier League and should provide stiff opposition with the likes of Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, Johan Mjallby and Alan Thompson and it promises to be a cracking atmosphere.
Tickets for both matches will initially go on sale to season ticket holders and club members strictly through the online ticketing on our website. These will go on sale on Monday, June 24 at 10am, but tickets will be available for the West and East Stands only at this stage.
All areas of the stadium for both fixtures will be available to season ticket holders and club members by telephone, in person and online from 10am on Monday, July 1. Any remaining tickets will then be available to non-members from 10am on Thursday, July 11.

Important * Season ticket holders and club members will be able to purchase up to six tickets per fixture on one transaction. However these tickets must be for associated current season ticket holders and club members as season ticket/membership booklets MUST BE shown at the turnstiles at both matches to ensure admission.
