Trailing 2-0 going into the final 10 minutes of a typically well-fought Premier League derby at the Lane, Danny cut the deficit to 2-1 before Harry Kane levelled from the spot in the final minute of added time.
That was the seventh time we’ve scored a goal inside the final five minutes in the Premier League this season, six have resulted in wins - West Ham, Villa, Hull and Swansea away, Sunderland and Arsenal at the Lane - and now a draw against the Hammers.
“That’s the mentality at the club, to dig in until the end,” reflected Danny. “I don’t think anyone can say that it’s a coincidence because we’ve done it so many times this season.
“We don’t want to find ourselves in a position where we have to wait until the 94th minute to get a result but it’s a great habit and long may it continue.”
Danny conceded that we were not at our best as although we started well, West Ham forged a 2-0 lead with goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho.
He added: “We made a lot of individual mistakes, which isn’t normally like us. We were disappointed to go 2-0 down but if you manage to grab a point against any team after being 2-0 down in the Premier League it’s a massive positive.”
