Lads upbeat - Harry

Harry Redknapp reports a positive outlook at Spurs Lodge as the lads put Wembley behind them and prepare for Middlesbrough.

We suffered heartbreak from the spot in Sunday's Carling Cup Final against Manchester United as we lost a penalty shoot-out after the game finished goalless after extra time.

Naturally deflated immediately after the final, Harry admitted that he hasn't really had to pick up the lads for tonight's (Wednesday, March 4) big Premier League encounter against improving Boro.

"They've not been too low, really," said Harry. "Even though we lost - and no-one wants to lose - they all walked off at Wembley knowing that they'd given everything.

"I thought we were fantastic, so there is no problem with that.

"If you play well and give everything, some days it goes your way, some days not. It was a lottery, penalties. United weren't better than us on the day and that was important.

"There were some fantastic performances and a lot of the players did themselves an awful lot of good.

"Look at Aaron Lennon's performance, he was magnificent. That's the toughest game I've ever seen anyone give Evra, who is a great left-back in my opinion. Luka Modric was superb and Darren Bent never stopped working up front for us.

"The midfield, Jenas, Zokora, never stopped running. We were solid at the back, Ledley and Dawson were top-class as usual and the goalkeeper looked solid. The full-backs did great jobs on Ronaldo and Nani.

"I couldn't be more pleased with the lot of them, they all worked hard. I was very proud."

Middlesbrough arrive at the Lane on the back of positive results against West Ham in the FA Cup and a fine win against Liverpool on Saturday.

"It's another big game," added Harry. "The weekend's results opened everything up again in the league.

"Middlesbrough had a great result against Liverpool and that has pulled them back into the pack and it's all to play for.

"We're playing very well at the moment and the form has been good.

"We've only had one home defeat since I arrived at the club and look at the amount of games we've played and the competitions we've been involved in.

"We've also won three games away from home in the league since I've been here, so I've got no problems with the form we've showed. We're playing very well."
