Our Under-18s made it two wins and a draw in the Copa Chivas tournament in Mexico with a 1-0 victory against Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica of Chile on Monday.
Ryan Mason struck his third goal of the tournament to secure the victory in 85-degree heat at the Chivas San Rafael Stadium in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.
Just as impressively, the lads kept their third-successive clean sheet in Group A.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "We really noticed the temperature in this one, it was up to 85 degrees and we were up against the Chilean champions who had won their first two games.
"We went 1-0 up after 20 minutes after a great move finished by Ryan Mason after a lovely touch from Paul-Jose M'poku.
"We had the better chances in that first half and Paul-Jose went close with a header from Ryan's cross later in the half.
"We came under more pressure in the second half but I have to say the lads were fantastic. Defensively we were outstanding - Oscar Jansson, Nathan Byrne, Adam Smith, Calum Butcher and Steven Caulker with Sam Cox just in front of them in a defensive midfield role.
"We had one further chance late on when Andros Townsend went though on goal but the keeper made a good save.
"To have kept three clean sheets so far is a superb achievement, especially against the teams we are playing against out here.
"The teams are highly technical, highly tactical and it's exactly what you would expect of South American opposition. There so much talent out here.
"The standard of play is phenomenal but the lads have adapted well to the conditions, we're playing well and we've picked up great results so far with some top-class performances."
The lads next face Norwegian side Stabaek at Club Providencia Stadium, Zapopan, Jalisco later today.
Spurs: Jansson, Smith, Byrne, Cox, Caulker, Butcher, M'poku (Townsend), Parrett, Obika (Fraser-Allen), Mason, Kasim (Bostock).
