Andros Townsend, Adam Smith and Dean Parrett played their part as England U17s won the Algarve Tournament.
Our Academy trio featured in all three matches as England beat Denmark, France and then drew with Portugal on Tuesday to clinch the title.
Dean made his mark in the first game with the third goal in a 3-0 win against the Danes at the Estadio Da Nora on Saturday. The midfielder came on as a second half substitute, Andros also came on while Adam played a full shift in defence.
Andros and Dean were heavily involved in the 2-0 win against France at Estadio Municipal Di Portimao on Sunday. Andros cleared a goalbound Danish header off the line, Dean set up the opening goal for Jacob Mellis and Andros was then involved in the build-up for the second goal. Both players started with Adam a second half substitute.
Andros featured again in the final match against Portugal at Dr Fransisco Viera, Silves where he came closest to breaking the deadlock in a goalless draw, forcing a fine save from the home keeper. Adam started again while Dean was a second half substitute.
