Gareth Bale insists the lads can’t wait for Old Trafford tonight after kicking-off the season in style at Hearts.
The flying winger played his part in Thursday night’s victory at Tynecastle in the Europa League play-off, first leg, scoring our fourth goal in the impressive 5-0 win.
Last season’s PFA Player of the Year is well aware that a trip to reigning champions Manchester United represents an entirely different prospect, but feels we now take some momentum into our first Premier League match of the campaign.
“It was great to be back, to get the season underway and to get off to such a good start,” said Gareth. “It was also great to get that winning mentality straight away.
“It was good to get out there and get 90 minutes and some match sharpness. We’ll be raring to go at United.
“They’ve made some great signings. Ashley Young has done well over the years for Villa and he’ll be a great addition to the squad. The keeper is world-class, I’m sure he’ll prove that.
“But we want to test him and we’ll go to Old Trafford, give our all and try to test the whole team. We go into every game looking to win it.”
