Vedran Corluka felt the lads showed real character to take a point at Bolton.
We fell behind twice in the Barclays Premier League encounter at the Reebok but recovered twice with goals from Niko Kranjcar and Vedran securing a 2-2 draw.
Both teams had chances after Vedran's header in the 73rd minute - Jussi Jaaskelainen blocked Peter Crouch's close-range effort - but it stayed 2-2 and the point sees us sitting third after the weekend's action.
It was another test for the defence at the Reebok but the home side mixed their game up well with newcomers Tamir Cohen and Chung-Yong Lee both impressing while at the same time, Bolton's five-man midfield made it difficult for our passing game to get going.
"It was a tough game for us and that's the case for every team that comes here," reflected ‘Charlie', now on international duty with Croatia.
"Bolton are very good, they have lots of strength and we knew it would be difficult. We're pleased because we were down twice and we showed the character to come back."
Charlie's looping header from Niko Kranjcar's cross marked his first goal for the club since joining at the start of last season.
"I was in the right place at the right time," he added. "I was a little surprised - perhaps they underestimated me because I never head the ball!
"It was great to score my first goal though."
