Harry Redknapp reported that the great Luis Figo joined the chorus of praise for Gareth Bale after his fantastic display against Inter Milan.
The Welsh wizard stole the show as we toppled the European champions 3-1 on a night to remember in the Champions League at the Lane.
Gareth gave world-renowned right-back Maicon a torrid time all night and set-up second half goals for Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko.
Both goals came from typical raids down the left flank with Pav's match clincher following from a 70-yard dash just two minutes from time.
His performance had his manager, team-mates and pundits all purring - including Figo, the former Barca, Real Madrid and Inter great now in an ambassador's role at Inter.
"Figo said Bale was amazing," said Harry. "And when he says that, it's got to be good because he was such a fantastic footballer."
Tom Huddlestone, captain on such a proud night, led the tributes from his team-mates.
"He's six-foot tall, quick, strong, with a fantastic technique and very quick as well," he said.
"He continued where he left off at the San Siro and gave their full-back a torrid time again.
"It's okay running at people but he picks the passes out at the end, and that is such a great quality to have."
‘Crouchy' was on the end of Gareth's cross to make it 2-0 in the second half and said: "Maicon's no mug is he? He's a fantastic right-back and what Gareth did to him over the two games was magnificent."
Luka Modric had one word - ‘unstoppable'.
He said: "When he plays like he's done in the games against Inter, he's unstoppable.
"Since he started playing regularly, he's been unbelievable. His game has been progressing and it's unbelievable to watch him. He's so quick. He's showed his class in these games."
