The Tottenham Ladies first team played out an enjoyable 2-2 draw with London rivals Chelsea at White Hart Lane last week.
About 300 fans watched the London derby and both sides made the most of the wide open spaces to play some good passing football in a friendly match that was contested in a good spirit and provided a good advertisement for the women's game.
An early goal in each half from Lucy Auguste and Zoella Freeman twice gave Spurs the lead but each time a strong Chelsea side fought back to equalise.
Three of the Tottenham Hotspur Ladies sides competed in Cup Finals last weekend. The Under-15s beat a strong QPR side that had beaten them three times in the League this season. The team secured a well-earned 3-1 victory with early goals by Jenny Homer and Sarah Green before a second half chip from Ruth Waghorn near the end completed the victory.
Unfortunately the Reserves lost in the final of the Sue Sharples Memorial Trophy, dedicated to the former Spurs player and employee of the parent club, who tragically died at training. The Under-11's also missed out on silverware losing to Luton Town Belles.
All in all the it has been a successful season for the Tottenham Ladies and this gives them great motivation to do even better next season.
