A first half strike by Danielle Wheeler and some fine goalkeeping by Alison Hastings-Woodward, saw Spurs stay on track for a record breaking treble in a match the team controlled and demonstrated some true quality, where many sides would have cracked.

Enfield made sure Spurs never had it easy, but the Champions maintained their 100% record in all competitions.

Cambridge City U13 1
Tottenham Hotspur U13 Whites 2

The wind made this a game of two halves, but Spurs used the gusty conditions to their advantage to reach the League Cup Final for the second successive season.

Cambridge, who beat Spurs in last season’s final, had the wind at their backs in the first half, but the teams turned around with just a single goal separating them. With Spurs finding it difficult to get out of their own half, City breached the Tottenham defence only once with a ball into the goalmouth dropping kindly for their forward to score.

With the wind blowing the length of the pitch, Spurs launched a series of attacks, which culminated in the 40th minute, when Andrea Edobor scoring with a towering 35-yard effort the keeper could not keep out.
With the play all with Tottenham, it was only a question of time before they took the lead and Leasha Ngotho broke through the defence to slot home under the keeper with just ten minutes left.

Cambridge tried to secure an equaliser and keeper Nicola Davey was called upon to make a last-ditch save to see Spurs through to a final against QPR.

Spurs Ladies Reserves fell at the semi-final hurdle losing out to an experienced Garston side.

Garston switched into attack and keeper Lisa McCabe was called on to push a shot past the post. Another Richards effort was blocked, while captain Gill Blackmore had a shot saved, as Spurs dominated until the interval.

Garston changed their formation after the break and piled on the pressure forcing McCabe into a fine save. The breakthrough came when a Garston player was able to tap into the goal from close range after a cross into the area.

Richards just missed out on reaching a Garner cross, but then Garston hit Spurs on the break. With Athena Yennaris injured, play was allowed to continue and the opposition got their second goal, injuring the Spurs keeper in the process.
