Tottenham Hotspur Ladies suffered cup final heartbreak at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies suffered cup final heartbreak at the weekend.

The Under-13s lost out to Enfield Town after extra time while Luton Town scored a late goal to topple the Under-14s in their respective Home Counties League Cup Final.

Here are the reports with thanks, as always, to Wyart Lane...

SUNDAY MAY 18

Tottenham Hotspur U13 2
Enfield Town Ladies U13 4
HCGFL – U13 CUP FINAL
(After extra time – score at full time 2-2)

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under-13s took Enfield Town all the way before two extra time goals sealed the match for the Spurs’ rivals.

Two first half goals from long shots put Enfield in the driving seat at the interval, but Spurs were not willing to let the game slip by. They played some good football and with the defence tight in the second half, they got a goal back from a long range Bobbi Cubberley (pictured) free-kick, before bringing it back to 2-2 with a neat lob from a pressure situation by Tori Tripp.

An early goal in extra time made it an uphill task for Tottenham, but they still continued topress forward and gave Enfield some tense moments, but a late goal cracked home from 25 yards sealed the trophy for Enfield.

HCGFL – U14 CUP FINAL

A last gasp winner denied the Tottenham Hotspur Ladies Under-14s the opportunity of taking their League Cup Final to extra time.

Playing the better football, Spurs were hit by a goal against the run of play with a high hopeful lob ending up in the back of the Tottenham net.

However, the second half saw the girls play some slick passing football to put Luton on the back foot and Whitney Tango nicked an equaliser when she seized on some hesitant defending. Spurs pushed hard for the winner, but a long punt forward was chased down and from the second phase, the ball was bundled home from close range to end the season on a low note for THLFC.

Squad : - Daisy O’Sullivan, Shianne St. Louis, Rosie Kmita, Molly Kmita, Harley Keenlyside, Katie Mills, Hannah Lyons, Ayse Mustafa, Renata Inniss, Taylor O’Leary, Sarah Skipper, Siobhan Jones, Charlotte Dean, Nikki Hunnable, Whitney Tango, Laura Smith

TUESDAY MAY 13

Tottenham Hotspur U14 1
Garston Ladies U14 1
HCGFL – U14 DIVISION 1

Lacking sparkle after their League Cup semi-final, Spurs managed to grab a point against title chasing Garston with a late comeback.

The first half was a poor affair, with Tottenham missing a couple of key players and lacking their normal fluency, while Garston were held up by the Spurs defence.

The visitors forced the pace in the second half and were denied on a few occasions before a through ball was fired home in the 51st minute. Nikki Hunnable almost grabbed a leveller with a free kick, but it was from another set-piece that Ayse Mustafa slotted home after the ball was not cleared.

Both sides went for the win, with Garston coming closest with a shot against the post, but at the final whistle, the points were shared.
