Ladies fly high against RAF

Posted on 18 May 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC toppled the RAF 5-0 in front of over 700 fans at the Lane on Sunday.

Leah Flintham (pictured) put Spurs in the driving seat with the opening goals after 21 and 24 minutes, the second a 20-yard cracker.

She then turned provider for Lucy Auguste to skip past the keeper for the third before Flintham's hat-trick wrapped it up.

That left a fine fifth goal with the move started by keeper Louise Cooper and involving Alice Oake and Kenne Ogunneye before skipper Jackie Fearon drilled in off the post.

David Lammy MP was the club's guest of honour and was pleased to hand the players a memento of the day's match, played in strong sunshine and in a sporting spirit.
