The full-back was proud to captain the team but was later left devastated as West Ham came from 1-0 down to beat us 2-1 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
We controlled the first half and deservedly took the lead through Emmanuel Adebayor’s volley on 67 minutes.
However, West Ham hit back through Matt Jarvis with 10 minutes left and won it five minutes later via Modibo Maiga’s header.
“I thought we played some great attacking football in the first half and created a lot of chances, it just didn’t fall our way,” said Kyle, who felt if we’d managed to score earlier, it might have been a different story.
“We’ve just got to that (first) goal. It’s got to come soon, just look at the amount of chances we created.
“Every one of us has to dig in - the fans, the staff, the players - because we’re a great football team with great players, great fans and we all need to stick together and come through this patch.
“We need to dig in and as I keep saying, it will be a good season, we’re just having a blip at the moment.”
Next up is a trip to Southampton as we return to Premier League action on Sunday - look out for Kyle's thoughts on the Saints tomorrow...
