Kyle Walker set-up England's late equaliser as they opened their European Under-21 Championship Finals camapign with a 1-1 draw against tournament-favourites Spain on Sunday.

The full-back cut into the box from the right and picked out Danny Welbeck, who beat the offside trap and had time to pick his spot from close range to level with only two minutes remaining.

Kyle started alongside Spurs team-mate Danny Rose, who was selected in a left-sided role by boss Stuart Pearce with Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand at left-back.

Spain took an early lead through Ander Herrera and, as expected, dominated possession in Herning, Denmark.

However, Kyle's raids down the right were a feature of England's performance and were rewarded with that late leveller. Danny was substituted after 67 minutes.

The pair now prepare to face Ukraine in their second group match on Wednesday. Czech Republic beat Ukraine 2-1 on Sunday.
