The inspirational central defender missed out up at Newcastle last weekend due to an ankle injury sustained in training on the Friday, although he did make the trip to the North East.
"I should be alright for Saturday, I went out and did a little bit today (Thursday) and it felt okay, not great, but there shouldn't be a problem," revealed the skipper, who initially believed he would make the cut for Newcastle selection.
"It was an ankle problem, but all throughout Friday I thought I would play. On Friday night I went to sleep thinking about playing and I woke up feeling I would play."
"I had a little bit of a test on it early before the game and it didn't feel right. The gaffer and the physios thought, since it was a fresh injury, that it was better not to risk it with the possibility of missing two or three weeks after.
"So I had to sit it out. It was tough to watch and obviously conceding a goal in under two minutes is not ideal at a place like Newcastle. You want to go there and keep their fans quiet, once they get behind the team it is a tough place."
Ledley King is confident of being passed fit for the visit of Manchester City to the Lane on Saturday afternoon, kick-off 12.45pm.
