Lane legend Teddy Sheringham had a few kind words about Spurs to Calum Davenport before the young defender arrived at the Lodge this week.
Our former skipper is now at West Ham where Calum spent almost three months on loan after we signed him from Coventry City.
Now he's back and made his debut at Aston Villa on Monday.
"Funnily enough, my last game for Coventry was against West Ham and Teddy shook my hand and said 'you'll enjoy it there'," recalled Calum.
"Obviously he's a quality player and he told me I was joining a massive club who will look after me and wished me all the best.
"Alan Pardew, his staff and all the lads helped me settle in quickly and that probably showed in the way I was playing. They have a young team down there and they helped me settle and I really enjoyed it.
"There are a lot of quality players here and it's up to me to do well, probably in the reserves, wait for my chance and hopefully when that comes I'll have to grab it with both hands."
