We welcome the Ligue 1 giants to White Hart Lane on matchday six in Group J, knowing we’ve already done enough to secure a top two finish and a spot in next Monday’s draw for the round of 32.
Monaco, on the other hand, need a positive result and Anderlecht to drop points against Qarabag if they’re to make it through to the knockout stage, but Kieran says the requirements of our opponents won’t come into the equation for us as we look to make mathematically sure of top spot and carry some positive momentum into the next round.
“We don’t want to worry about the other results, we just need to focus on our game and what’s in front of us and that’s Monaco,” said the right-back, ever present for us in the competition so far this term.
“We know from the first game that they love to try to catch you on the break and they’ve got some very good players in the team so we need to be wary of that, but hopefully we’ll get the job done.
“Every game we go into we believe we can win the match and that’s no different on Thursday against Monaco.
“We’ll make sure we’re ready for the game and hopefully we can win and top the group.”
