Clive Allen says he's been delighted with the contribution of the Academy lads as our reserves continue their title tilt tonight.

Jamie Davis, Jacques Maghoma, Simon Dawkins and Stuart Lewis - as well as young professionals Charlie Lee, Charlie Daniels and Andy Barcham - have all featured heavily in recent weeks.

There will be another strong Academy presence in the squad when we take on West Ham in the Barclays Reserve League South at Stevenage Borough FC tonight, kick-off 7pm.

"The younger lads have come into the fold and handled themselves very well," said coach Clive.

"It's not just about the step up from youth team football but the pressure of playing with the seniors in the position we're in at the moment.

"They look as if they are enjoying it and that's important in terms of their development.

"They are improving and learning with every opportunity they get and that is the most pleasing factor of what we've seen over the last three or four weeks."

West Ham arrive at Broadhall Way in sixth but have games in hand and have only lost four of 16 this term.

Clive added: "We're getting to the stage of the season where every game is going to be vitally important.

"We know we always have good matches against West Ham and we spoke about the quality of last week's game at Arsenal and this is another one.

"We've been delighted to get to where we are at this point but we have to continue doing it week in, week out."

We'll have tonight's squad later...
