First year trainees Jamie Davis, David Button, Matthew Wells and Radwan Hamed - with us full-time only a few weeks — have all tasted senior football in friendlies against Fleet Town, Cheshunt, Boreham Wood and Cambridge City.
Indeed, Emil Hallfredsson (21) and the returning Reto Ziegler (19) have been the most senior players in the squad.
Both were on target as the lads made it four games unbeaten in pre-season with a 3-1 victory against Conference South outfit Cambridge City on Saturday.
“With the first team squad away it’s been young professionals and Academy boys in these friendlies,” said coach Clive.
"They’ve done us proud because we’ve not had easy games, it’s been senior football whereas the majority of the lads have only played youth team football against their own age group.
“That age group has opened up in these games but they’ve taken the next step forward.
“The lads who have joined the group have acquitted themselves well and are in good physical condition. It’s very encouraging.”
Clive Allen reckons our Academy players have done the club proud on Spurs XI duty over the last couple of weeks.
