Kevin Bond sees tonight's (Wednesday, December 16) huge clash against City as an ideal opportunity to bounce back from Saturday's loss against Wolves.

It's fifth against seventh in the Barclays Premier League as Mark Hughes' men arrive at the Lane for an 8pm kick-off.

After fine league performances against Wigan, Villa and Everton, the lads were rocked by a 1-0 home at the hands of Wolves on Saturday.

Kevin Doyle headed the visitors into an early lead and try as we might, we couldn't break down the Molineux side as they defended for their lives.

Assistant boss Kevin insists the squad has taken in lessons from that defeat this week before quickly turning attentions to City.

"The disappointment is there but there is no point dwelling on it," he said. "Everyone has dropped points, we're still right in there and this is a terrific game for us.

"We're up against a team with the same aspirations - to try and break into that top four - so it's a key game for us and an ideal one to try and bounce back in."

Kevin agreed with Sebastien Bassong's summary - CLICK HERE - that tonight's encounter should be a complete contrast to Saturday's, where we had just about all the possession but Wolves hung on for that 1-0 win.

"I'm sure City will want to impose their skill and ability on the game," he added. "I don't see it being as tight as Wolves and we'll probably get ourselves into areas where we can create more chances but, with the greatest respect, City are also more of a goal threat so we need to be on a guard defensively as well."
