Kevin's honour

Posted on 3 July 2015  - 01:15

Kevin Wimmer can’t wait to make history at Spurs – by becoming the first Austrian to represent the club.

The central defender joined us after an impressive campaign at FC Cologne in the Bundesliga.

Kevin will soon arrive at Hotspur Way for pre-season training after being part of the Austrian squad that won a huge Euro 2016 qualifier in Russia last month.

Now he’s preparing for the next chapter of his career - and the chance to make his mark here at Spurs.

“For me, it’s an honour, a special thing,” said Kevin. “I’m glad to be the first (Austrian at Spurs) and I will give my best for the club.

“It’s not so bad to be the first. I have to try and give my best so no-one says the Austrians can’t play well and it was better when there were no Austrians at Tottenham!”

"Everything feels good and now I have to do my best, it’s up to me to be good as well. The club is perfect for me.

"If someone had said to me last year that I would be playing for Tottenham I would say they were crazy. I’m very proud and I’m sure I will have a good time. I hope I can reach my best and stay a long time."
