Austria have included Kevin Wimmer in their provisional 24-man squad for Euro 2016.

Our 23-year-old defender, who has frequently been in the Austrian squad over the last couple of seasons, will take part in his nation’s pre-tournament training camp in Switzerland before coach Marcel Koller trims the group down to name his final 23-man party for the showpiece event in France.

Austria will warm up for the competition with friendlies against Malta on May 31 and the Netherlands on June 4.

Their Euro 2016 Group F campaign begins against Hungary in Bordeaux on June 14 before they take on Portugal in Paris on June 18. Iceland are their third opponents on June 22 in Saint-Denis.

Kevin has three senior international caps to his name thus far, the latest of which came in a 2-1 friendly victory over Albania in March of this year.
