Kevin Bond says we'll have to be resilient against a Rubin Kazan team chasing maximum points in tonight's Europa League group match in Russia.

Victory will guarantee a place in the last 32 of the competition after home wins against Rubin, Shamrock Rovers and a draw in PAOK.

We sit top of Group A and Rubin know they need points as they are currently third behind PAOK, with the Greek side facing Shamrock in Dublin in tonight's other group match.

As assistant boss Kevin points out, winning at home is always the key to progress in European competition and a draw or win in Russia would be a huge positive.

"It will be really tough," said Kevin. "Rubin Kazan are a good side. It will be a great experience for all of us.

"They will think they need to get a result and we’ll need to be resilient and try to bring something back.

"We were mindful that if we could win our home games and then pick up a couple of away results, that would be enough, and that’s what it’s about, getting through to the knockout stage.

"We’ve done that so far, won the home games, got a draw at PAOk and now we’ll try to get at least a draw in Russia."
