Keith played in non-league football before taking over as manager at Sutton United in the late 70s. He then moved to Sweden to take over at Malmo and subsequently coached Norwegian side Viking from 1984.
He joined us in 1987 and enjoyed considerable success with our youth side throughout the following decade, subsequently switching to the role of head coach at the FA’s ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Lilleshall. Keith later worked with various clubs in China and also coached their national side at Under-23 and Under-19 levels.
Former Spurs boss Peter Shreeves, who brought Keith to White Hart Lane, said: “I first spotted Keith out in Sweden and was instantly struck by how good he was. So I was delighted when he agreed to join us and he did a terrific job with our youngsters.
“Unfortunately he endured a long five year battle with cancer but faced up to it with typical grit and fortitude. I am very sorry to see him go.”
We extend our sincere condolences to Keith’s wife Pauline and to his family and friends at this sad time.
