Younes Kaboul has two targets at Wigan – three points and an another clean sheet.

The defender was in fine form in Tuesday night’s Carling Cup tie at Stoke and looks set to take his place again at the DW Stadium when we return to Premier League action on Saturday.

The team is aiming for a third-successive victory in the Premier League after back-to-back wins against Wolves and Liverpool.

Meanwhile, our defence is looking to make it five clean sheets on the trot having not conceded since the 5-1 home loss against City back on August 28.

“Wigan is a difficult game and we are looking for the right result, we’re after three points again,” said Younes.

“We have a strong team, we know we need to improve more and that’s what we’re looking for at Wigan, to go out and try to win, as usual.”

The City defeat was a real shock to the system, especially defensively. But as a unit, they’ve recovered well.

“Stoke is always a tough game, you have to concentrate all the time and we did that,” he added after we went out of the Cup on penalties at the Britannia. Younes scored his spot kick.

“I’m happy because it’s four games now where we haven’t conceded a goal and that’s important, because we conceded three at United and then five at home to City. That was a lot.

“We’re back in the game now and that’s perfect.”
