Hans Segers continues his review of our goalkeeping performances last season with our Mr Professional, Radek Cerny.

Coach Hans had five goalkeepers under his charge last term - Paul Robinson, Radek Cerny, Ben Alnwick, Robert Burch and Tommy Forecast - with Robbo again ever-present in the Premiership and Radek playing on five occasions.

Radek Cerny (5 appearances - 1 UEFA Cup; 2 FA Cup; 2 League Cup)

Hans Segers: "We are very lucky to have someone like Radek on board. In my opinion, he could walk into any club in the Championship and play every week.

"I have no problems if he has to come in for Robbo, whether that is down to injury or Radek coming in for a cup tie, I’ve no doubts he will do the job.

"It’s a pleasure to work with the lad and nothing is too much for him. Often the lads will call on him when they are doing some extra finishing practice and he’ll stay with them for however long it takes. He’s so strong minded and you have to have that as a goalkeeper anyway, but players from Eastern Europe, their mentality is strong and they have to prove themselves all the time. All credit to him for another fine season."
