Following incidents against Arsenal and Bolton we have now banned the sale of alcohol in plastic bottles in both the South Stand and the lower tier of the East Stand.
All other areas are being monitored.Tuesday’s Worthington Cup quarter-final was a triumph both on and off the pitch with a 6-0 memorable victory and pure vocal support from the highly-charged crowd. It is what visiting the Lane should be all about.
As Glenn says: “I was pleased to see that the Bolton Cup game passed without any items being thrown onto the pitch.
“This is exactly what we need so please keep it this way at what is an important stage of the season for us. In fact, if you see anything like this happening, please do us all a favour and report it.”
The club would to take this opportunity to remind spectators that alcohol should not be taken into seating areas — it is an arrestable offence to do so
We thank you all again and ask all fans to make sure that a visit to the Lane is memorable for all the right reasons.
The club is delighted how fans have responded to our appeals not to throw items onto the pitch — and the message from boss Glenn Hoddle is ‘please keep up the good work’.
