Head Coach insisted the Irish striker 'looked fresh' in training this week and 'ready to be involved again'.
Robbie has already bagged 15 goals in 38 appearances this campaign.
The Irish striker missed out at Birmingham City on Saturday when Martin was forced into two early substitutions with Noe Pamarot and Reto Ziegler injured.
"Robbie is a bit emotional now and then but it's important to know that he's a player who never causes me a problem, it was just one of those things," stated Martin at this afternoon's pre-Newcastle press briefing.
"He knows he's a very important player for us. He's played more games than Fredi Kanoute, for instance and I'm always satisfied with any player who plays in 30 matches or more in a season. He's also quite productive and has 15 goals this season.
"You always know he is one of those quality players who can always deliver."
Martin Jol has underlined the importance of Robbie Keane to the squad.
