Robbie Keane slipped out of modest mode when mention was made of his goals tally last season. The popular striker, who recently signed a new five-year contract, netted a personal best 22 goals over the last campaign.

"I'm not a bad little finisher, am I?" questioned Robbie with a broad smile on his face. "It is always nice to score goals and I have been lucky enough to maintain a good level since I have been here.

"Every year I have progressed and that is the most important thing," he continued, before adding that his strike partners have not been short on goals themselves.

"There are goals in us and my brother told me if Jermain had got 20 goals it would have been the first time in many years that three strikers reached that figure. It wasn't to be in the end, but the amount of goals we scored is a credit to us and if we can continue with it next season we will be okay.

"We believe we have plenty of goals in the squad and have proved that."
