The Frenchman checked in at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday before joining his three fellow strikers for training and Robbie feels that the team will benefit from recruiting a player of proven Premiership quality.
"Fredi's a proven goalscorer and a proven player in the Premiership, he brings plenty of good attributes to the team," said Robbie. He's a big lad who will give us that presence in the air, but he can also hold the ball up well and has great skill.
"The Premiership is a tough league but Freddie has been there with West Ham and he knows what to expect. I'm sure he's going to do a great job for us."
Robbie added that the bolstering of the striking department with Fredi, Helder Postiga and Bobby Zamora signals the beginning of an exciting period for the club.
"He's a great player and you can't help but look forward to playing alongside him, he's the sort of striker that you want to play up front with, although we've now got three new centre forwards and it's great that Bobby and Helder are on board too - these are exciting times for the club."
Robbie Keane says that he is looking forward to the opportunity of playing alongside new signing Fredi Kanoute.
